FE710DRS Samsung oven heat failure

Greetings,

This 3-year old Samsung oven seems to have experienced a failure on the control board. there is a burned area where the red wire running from the terminal block connects to this particular component on the board. The plastic on this part has melted, causing the wire to dislocate and the circuit to lose continuity. I don't know the name of this component, but it is a blue plastic rectangular box labeled "KET 6" (image included)

this issue appears to be similar to a thread posted by Jekyl on 4-24-14, but it is unclear whether or not that issue was resolved. Samsung has been no help.

The range top works, but the oven does not. Bake and broil elements themselves both have continuity. does anyone know what this part is, what may have caused this failure, or if the entire control board will need to be replaced?

Thank you!

Ken

LG Electric Range LRE30451SB/02 Oven will not maintain set temp

When using the oven I start the bake cycle to heat to 350. It reaches this temperature and gives off the 3 beeps to let me know it's there. After I place whatever item I'm going to bake in the oven the temp display will indicate the oven is still at 350 degrees however when I open to check a short time later the actual temperature in the oven is significantly lower despite the 350 on the temp display. I restart the bake cycle and the temp display then shows a temp anywhere from 100 to 300 degrees. Trying to determine what part is malfunctioning.

Samsung NX58H5600SS range barely boils water

Hi all.

Our brand new Samsung stove takes over 20 minutes to barely boil 3 quarts of water, then never gets past a low boil (on the "power burner" or any other burner). The flames are blue...except once a few days ago when in the middle of cooking they turned yellow. Since then, they've been blue again. It's professionally installed, with LP conversion professionally installed and correct LP orifices checked multiple times. Simmer calibration professionally adjusted.

Videos:

So far:
  • The gas company came and confirmed that gas pressure was good at the burner (12" WC)
  • The Best Buy technician changed out the regulator in the stove

Everyone is stumped. Anyone have any insight please?

Replace 2 0+4 Spark Modules with 1 0+6 Spark Module in 6-Burner Viking?

I have a 6-burner Viking stove which uses 2 0+4 spark modules (e.g. the PA020047 or Invensys U-67204-7). In other words, two outputs of one of the spark modules are unused. It seems silly, but that's the way it is.... One of the spark modules is now dead or dying. I've replaced spark modules once or twice before, so buying a replacement and plugging it in seems straightforward enough. But since the other spark module has always been a little flaky, and a single 0+6 spark module (e.g. the PA020048 or Invensys U-67205-28) is less expensive than 2 0+4 spark modules--wait for it--would this stove work with a single 0+6 spark module? That seems a lot more elegant.
So far I've been unable to find any electrical specs for these parts. I'm willing to guess this is pretty standard stuff, meaning the 0+6 would work fine, but maybe someone here can at least guess a lot better than I can!
If I can use the 0+6 spark module, one loss would be how robust the stove is with the next failure. Now I might be able to plug burner ignitors into the unused spark module terminals, and get a little more life out of it. If the 0+6 spark module dies, the whole stovetop dies, and making dinner gets a lot harder while I find the replacement. But stashing the flaky 0+4 spark module I have now so that I have a prayer of finding it again would give me some backup there.
Thanks for any suggestions, or entertaining commiseration.

Element stuck on

Hi, I was cooking with my Rangemaster ELAN 110 duel fuel as I heard what sounded like a pop come from my oven but it still worked fine, however when I turned the oven off and the fan stopped the element was still burning hot and glowing bright red and nearly set on fire as the fan wasn't keeping it cool. I had not that long ago replaced the thermostat on the other oven so don't think it's that, I have removed the element for the time being so I can still use the oven and everything works fine but when it's turned on the light comes on for that oven without even turning the knob showing that it's trying to heat it up, I have done some reading and it seems that it might abtually be the clock that needs replacing as this has some controls on it that may be setting the oven to fully turn on with no temperature control, hope I've given enough info for people to assist. Thanks in advance

Junker oven controls troubleshooting

WE've just moved into a new house with a Junker oven, JB23UA.0. The oven works but the display doesn't. It also makes a high pitched noise when the oven is on. Any ideas what the problem is?

Can I safely disable the oven control panel and still use my range?

Hi, I have the dreaded F1 error on my electric oven and the beeping won't stop. I have unplugged the oven to stop the beeping, and I know I need to replace the oven control panel. My knobs for my range burners are separate, and since I am not going to be able to replace the control panel in the next couple of days but would still like to use the range, I am wondering if 1) the range will still work if I disconnect the oven control panel and 2) if so, is it safe to leave the oven control panel disconnected and appliance plugged in when I am not using the range?

This is really unfortunate that this has happened to me at Christmas time, so I'm trying to figure out how I can make the best of it without having to rely on my microwave for the next few days! Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

RGU-485GD-N DCS 48" Range Right Oven Not Lighting

I have a DCS 48" range. It has 5 top burners, a griddle, and two ovens beneath. Tonight, the right oven didn't lite. We noticed that the RED lights that usually illuminate the knbs werent lighting up. The left oven works fine. When the left oven was on, the right one seemed to lite for a minute, but then cut out. Curious if anyone has seen this before?

Maytag Gemini Double Gas Oven MGR6875ADW Ovens not working and more

I have the subject double gas oven. Neither ovem works tho the stove top does The pad also does not seem to acknowledge commands. I can press the cancel button and hear it beep, as well as the clock, tho i cannot set the time on the clock. I have replaced the Control Panel to no avail. When i replaced the panel, i only replaced the electrial back part, not the pad. Sometimes the SAB mode flashed. The oven worked off and on a few times and went off by itself as well. My roommmate burned some food on it pretty bad the other week on one of the back burners, i wonder if this had something to do with the pad. When i push other buttons on the pad, other things on the pad acknowledge it, not the ones i have pushed. I have unplugged it for some time several times and that seems to wake it up a bit, but then goes back to itself doing nothing. Any ideas? Thanks...

FER300SB/XAA Samsung Electric Oven Inaccurate Oven Temperature Reading

Example: Turn on oven, set to 350 degrees. Oven digital screen gets to 350 and beeps, BUT temp is 275. About 3 minutes later temp gets up to 350. Sometimes it won't get to set temp, and if you bump it up, it goes way over temp. Circuit board new in June of 2016 because LCD screen going out. I took temp. sensor out and took ohm reading 1096 at room temp (in range according to Samsung tech pamphlet taped to stove back). Ohm reading on heat element was 16.7 (I don't know if this is within spec). Any suggestions would be great. Even if temp sensor is within ohm specs, can it still be defective? Thanks

Forgot to mention that I checked for error codes....screen showed "no epp"???? Don't know what that stands for.

no heat in my GE Spectra stove

We are getting no heat to the GE Spectra range we have. Power is going to it. the clock and timer work and the red light comes on when a burner switch is activated but none of the burners will heat and the oven will not heat. It is not a breaker issue. However, before tearing into it I am wondering if anyone thinks this could be a faulty Terminal Block or could it be a faulty control panel? I am trying to decide the most cost effective way to deal with this. Having a repair person come to the house costs more than buying a used and functioning range. Any suggestions?

Old Oven Removal

Hello Everyone! New home owner here with almost zero repair/installation experience. I have two very old Jenn-Air ranges in my kitchen island. The previous owners must have been caterers or avid cooks. Anyway, I have a new range convection oven on the way and I ran into a question when I attempted to remove the old oven. There is a rather large vent underneath the oven (picture attached) that i have no idea if I should remove or if it is needed for the new oven. The old ovens had vents in the center of the range burners so I assume the vent below helped funnel the air??? I realize I should be calling a professional but I'm the type of person that likes to learn and try first. Any help is much appreciated!

Oh btw, the new range/oven is a Samsung 5.8 cu. ft. Slide-In Electric Range, Model #NE58K9430SS.
