I have a Bosch double oven HBL8651UC that has been acting up lately. Whenever I turn the lower oven to bake mode, the lower baking element turns on (it's hidden but I can feel the oven bottom get very hot) and the broiler element turns on high power. I understand the broiler element should turn in bake mode as part of the baking pre-heat cycle, but it turns on high power/glowing red and never turns off. Any food we put in quickly burns due to the broiler element on full blast. Also shortly after reaching the desired temperature, the oven goes into some type of safety overheat procedure where it starts beeping, locks the oven door, turns off all the elements, and does not unlock the door until the unit has cooled down.
The top oven does not produce the same issue. When in bake mode, the top oven's bake and broiler elements turn on but the broiler element does not go to high power/glowing red. Nor does the oven go into the safety overheat procedure. Its just works as it should.
I've confirmed the lower oven's baking element works properly, albeit not visually since its hidden, and I've already tries resetting the oven/control board by killing all power to the oven for ~30 minutes. Still no luck though - the issue persists.
Appreciate any thoughts on the cause of the fault or suggestions to fix.
