Panel Cover & Gap Between Wall

Any suggestions for a clear cover to protect the panel? Concerned cleaning it as often as we have to will cause the letters to wear off. The ring on our stove already has (worn off), despite cleaning it minimally, with care, and using the manufacturer's recommended Cerama Bryte cleaner. As you will see from the picture, it's currently covered with saran wrap.

There's also a 1 3/8" gap between the wall and stove. Is that because of the anti-tip bracket? Any suggestions to cover the gap?
