VDSC487-4G QS Viking oven not working

Electric primary oven range is not working. On this Viking Stove I have replaced the thermostat and I have also replaced the main bottom burner. And still no luck.

oven door not sealing tightly

The door on our Jenn-Air (made by Maytag apperently, per the model # tag) is not sealing tightly.
reading up here (and elsewhere) it seems that the #1 cause of this problem is tired door hinge springs?
before I drop $75 on a pair of new hinges, I thought I would just double check that diagnosis here (on the only appliance repair source that I trust.)

Viking oven not working

Gas maytag oven delayed ignition, failing to stay at temperature

I see the glow ignitor turn on after turning on the oven, but a majority of time it goes off before the gas valve opens maybe 10 to 15 seconds. My guess is the glow ignitor is bad but I want to be certain before purchasing. Broiler element remains on during bake cycle on Dacor DR30DIH/NG

I recently replaced the broiler element on my Dacor DR30DIH/NG. The "broil" cycle now works as expected, but unfortunately now the broiler element never deactivates during the "bake" cycle. So, the oven gets way hotter than the selected temperature.

MCS130S Dacor oven doesn't heat even though heating element is good

Hi, I have a 7 year old Dacor Millennia wall oven (Model number MSC130S) which my wife tells me takes too long to heat up.

Broil element glows red, but not the bake element. Bake element measures 25 ohms, and appears to be in good shape. Volt meter on the wires which connected to the back element before I removed it seems to transition between 4 and 40 volts.

coil pins interchangeable?

Hi there, the new coils have eyelet shaped pins. Are they interchangeable with the old coils that come with flat pins? See picture please. In addition, does the number of rings matter? The upper one seems to have more rings than the bottom one.

I’m considering to replace my 20-year-old GE JBP21WC1WW with GE JB258DMWW. But I saw too many bad reviews on the new sensi-temp coil technology. I wonder if I can reuse my old coils on the new unit?

Reading directions is a good idea!

Long story short, we didn’t know that you don’t put aluminum foil down to catch drippings. This caused the lower oven to have small cracks/chips/scratches? The upper oven was used most often and has more serious damage.
Are the ovens destroyed? Is there some sort of sealant to prevent further fractures? Thanks for any insights!

How come the control panel caught on fire?

Last night my wife had the oven set to bake and a few minutes later you could see sparks and fire with smoke coming out behind the control panel for bake and such.
I immediately disconnected the oven and then when I opened the back the unit for bake was burnt.

White Residue all over my GE oven- keeps smoking

So I cleaned my GE oven (which is self-clean) by hand with 3 cleaners- Simple Green, Vinegar + Baking Soda, and dish soap. I thought it was all clean but when I used it, it smoked heavily. I shut it off and a week later tried again and obviously it continued smoking.

I have a GE Cafe Series range where only half of the right front burner has flames when turned on. This started happening when we removed the burners to do some cleaning (the burners themselves were not cleaned). Kenmore 790.72433315 ignitor changed. Shuts off after preheat.

We have a little over 2 year old Kenmore gas range. Oven stopped working and i took the ignitor out and had it tested. It was dead. I replaced it with one from local appliance place and it works. Ge cafe cgs990setss gas range bottom oven issue

My ge cgs990setss gas range is have an issue with the bottom oven, it does not light and stays at 100 degrees. I have replaced the igniter which was clearly broken however the issue remains. I have verified continuity through the replacement igniter it appears to be good. I have confirmed the part is compatible with my model. Any idea what else can be an issue??

Won’t stop preheating!

So my bottom oven element on my GE range (model number JCBP630DT1WW) needed to be replaced...which I did. After replacing, my oven will not reach desired temp and continues to preheat. Bottom element is getting hot... but not red. Took 40 mins to reach 350 degrees. Tried adjusting thermostat temp. Any suggestions? Replace thermostat? Getting very frustrated. Also live in a very isolated area so getting parts and asking for service is almost non existent.

Hi guys I'm having issues with my stove hood lights being stuck on after some recent local lightning (not sure if the lightning is a factor, I bring it up as it damaged local phone lines, etc.)

Immediately after the lightning we went to use the hood lights and one of the 2 lights burned out and then the other light remained on and would not turn off even though the control panel was off.

Lights could be turned off at the internal switch seen with in the hood after removing the hood filters...

Do I need to replace insulation pulled out while replacing element?

Replacing the baking element on my GE Spectra range. When I pulled the old elements out it disconnected before the wires were clear of the back, so the electric connections popped back behind the rear oven wall. I was able to reach them and pull them out where I could get to them using a bent needle nose pliers, but in the process of feeling around and a few false starts I pulled out some insulation - at most 2 cubic inches worth. ZGU385N Gas Cooktop Sparking/Clicking Continuously

One burner is continuously sparking/clicking. There is a small orifice in the burner head which produces a small flame onto the spark electrode. When the burner is set to a low setting, this flame is present and there is no sparking. When the burner is turned up, the small flame disappears and the sparking starts. The burner operates fine, apart from the sparking. I have swapped the burner head with another burner but there was no change.

Broan Range Hood Evolution 3 QP3 Series - Fan does not want to turn off

So how about Range Hoods? I have a Broan Evolution 3 series range hood my wife is convinced that it is possessed. However, I don't find an area for range hoods or range hood problems--not under stoves/ranges, or HVAC.

Thermador PGR36GL Oven issue - Turns off after 30 seconds

I have a Thermador PGR36GL - I had a power surge that burned out the control board (980-102-05) - A visual inspection found burn circuit board traces. The symptoms of the burned-up board are

• Thermostat needle goes to 500 degrees
• Oven and oven fan turn on
• I hear the igniter and gas ignite
• Turns off after 30 seconds
• Blinking blue light 1-1
• Stove and boiler burners are working

Wolf Dual Fuel oven temp while in Bake mode set to 350, will rise to 350 and all the while the display switches back and forth from the set temperature (350) to the actual temp as it heats. Induction Ranges Reliability

Hi,

What is the reliability as of lately with respect to induction ranges? Are the electric ranges more reliable?
Just want to know that I can be comfortable buying an induction range. Worried about the induction control module failing.
Do induction ranges from GE and Kitchen-Aid have a fuse to protect the electronics in case of a power surge in the area.

My GE® 30" BUILT-IN ELECTRIC COOKTOP, MODEL JP328WFWW, suddenly stopped working (went to cook breakfast) and none of the burners worked, nor did the "burner on/hot surface/indicator light". I cooked on it one night and the next morning - nothing! These are the steps I took to troubleshoot:

1) Yes, I did go and check the breaker - it had not tripped.

Just got this at Lowe’s and it seems to have a couple issues. It comes with a 5th burner, a warming zone. Has it’s own knob. If I turn the burner on independently it does not heat up. Kenmore oven door will not remove

My oven handle came off. The screws are not located on the other side so I assume we need to take the door off to get the inside. There is a locking clip on each side of the hinge that needs to be in the up position. One goes up just fine. The other will not. The hinge is a lot taller than the other. Okay, I've replaced the door latch, the door pressure switch, and the fan switch. The oven cleaning function worked for about 40 minutes before a continuous beeping started and an F2 error message appeared. Google says, replace relay (if present) or oven temperature sensor . Does that sound about right or is there a way to test for either of those conditions.

I've read a thread on here about RV36 vent issues, but hoping someone can walk me through some troubleshooting for my issue. Range/Oven no power

Control panel dead. No power no lights. Circuit breaker good. 220 volts confirmed at wall outlet. Control panel replaced 12 months ago. Panel would go dead, restart in 2- 3 hours. This time dead for 24 hours. Will not come back on. Of course Warranty ended 4 months ago.

Viking Sparking but not igniting

All range top burners and griddle are working!
Left (smaller) oven is working!

Right oven spark igniter appears to be sparking (we just replaced it thinking that was the issue) but it does not ignite the gas tube. The red oven light above the oven knob does come on, clicks and the spark igniter fires but it appears the oven is not calling for gas.

Any thoughts on next steps to repair the issue?

Right burners not working properly

On this stove top I replaced the right rear infinite switch. After doing so whenever the Right Rear and Right Front are on at the same time, the Right Rear runs on high regardless of what it is set on.

Maytag MGT8885XS00 Broiler not working

The Upper Oven works just fine, but When switch to "broil", I see the ceramic igniter light up and after about 1-2 mins it makes a load buff sound and then it makes a fluttering sound, like its sucking air until you turn off the the broil, you hear a click and it turns off. We have a Dacor HGPR36S that was installed 7/25/18. We have had an ongoing problem with the oven not maintaining a set temperature e.g. set it to 350 and it will hit 440 in 20 minutes and still be at 400 after 70 minutes. Recently I noticed that even though I was baking in pure convection mode, the baking element on the bottom would turn on (this with the oven
at set temp).

Hi, so I moved into apt that have a fridge that needed some serious cleaning. I decided to take the glass apart to clean it inside. Once I put it back together I noticed a gap between the glass and outside frame (see pics). I'm not sure if that was like this before and I don't know if this is ok. So on my Model Jenn Air range SVD48600P oven we get a F 3 error after the oven has been at 400 degrees for around 40 min. I have replaced the thermostat and the new one measures 1000 ohms. I have a Thermador 36" range (2 year old) that is currently on propane. My previous home we had a DCS range top that ran on Natural Gas. This Thermador range is extremely slow to heat a big pot of water for pasta for example and when it does boil and I put in the pasta it takes several minutes for the pot to return to boil. The DCS range we had previously with NG was much faster to boil and much faster to recover to a boil. Both ranges are in the 18,000 BTU per burner range.

i have a double oven and for years it has worked but will beep and seems to cut the heating power off and then right back on. I have head about different issues with them but need guidance on how to test it so i can order the proper parts. We have had it looked at while new and under warranty and after that by out local repair guy. There has to a part that is not working correctly and it should be cheaper than replacing these ovens. Hi,
The Miele cooktop is model KM443 (ceramic not induction around 20 years old)
I am getting error message tc42. Cooktop works fine but now emitting a very loud buzzing sound (as if you are constantly hearing the noise from pressing the buttons on the control panel). The high pitched buzz stops when I switch off the appliance power point. Can anyone tell me what happened if they have experienced the same? Miele KM443 Cooktop/Hob - TC41 upon poweron

Hi All,
Looking at repairing a Miele KM443 cooktop.
It's displaying an error TC41 when the power is turned on.
Cooktop still works ok, however emits a loud squealing nose from the speaker.
I'm thinking that maybe one of the button sensors is bad.
Has anyone worked with one of these before? Any ideas on where I could find a circuit diagram?

Oooops. shorted out the switch wiring.

boneheaded move.... maybe there is a fix or workaround.
the FAN/LIGHT switch on this JennAir disintegrated years ago and I have not been able to find a replacement.
So I just left it hanging loose in the cavity.
Last night I was fiddling in there (REMEMBER KIDS: flip the circuit breaker before playing with an electric appliance!) and the red wire (attached photo) touched the chassis and Poof! it all shorted out.

Unfortunately it was not just the circuit breaker. with that reset it still has...

Frigidaire Gallery Oven Problem

I am having two issues with my oven:

1. It seems to take a long time for the stove to light once you turn it on. A few times we could smell gas and when it finally came on you hear a loud noise. Like there is a lot of gas that just ignited.

2. Today we went to use the stove and it never came up to temperature. The pre-heat light stayed on the entire time. We used a laser thermometer to check the temperature of the metal walls of the stove and they were only about 230 degrees.

Our Bosch double oven display board keeps resetting and at first it would only happen once in a while but now it is happening all the time and it’s won’t let us cook. I’ve noticed that it also happens when you touch the “info” button. I have shut off the breaker for 30 mins in hopes it would reset the whole unit, but that only lasted a few hours. Possible Fire Danger?

I have a Whirlpool Double Oven GBD307-PRS01 and have seen others post about control board repairs for it. I began disassembly today to perform the repair and noticed some hot air and cooking grease appears to have entered the control board cavity. With only sheet metal as a shield in here, I'm worried it poses a fire risk. Any advise would be appreciated. Please see pics. Thank you!

Hello, this is my first time here. I am not sure if you can help because this is a commercial oven, but I said I will give it a try, so thanks in advance for your time and help.

KEHU309SSS Kitchenaid WallOven
