After the oven heats up for 8 to 10 minutes i am getting a F3 error code. I replaced the oven Thermostat, but it is still shutting down and giving me the error code.

Is it the mother board?

NE59J7750WS/AC Samsung Dual Range - Broiler Comes On and Stays on during bake

The broiler element in our Samsung range sometimes comes on and stays on during convection bake in the upper oven. The broiler element stays on and gets very hot even when the oven gets to the set temperature.

Is the broiler element supposed to come on at all during the convection bake setting?

Any idea what would cause this?

I did an error code check and it listed "dC" which is a partition error which refers to the removable partition that divides the oven into two.
Not sure if ths error would be related to the broiler element problem.

Thanks

NY58J9850WS/A Samsung Range Display Problem

I purchased a dual fuel Samsung range (NY58J9850WS/AA) in August of 2016. In October 0f 2018, I lost the fluorescent display after an oven cleaning cycle. I have tried three replacement display assembly modules (DE96-01050B) in the range with all exhibiting the same strange behavior. In all instances the touch pads are mapped in an upside down arrangement. For example, a press of the “1” pad results in a display of “8”, a press of “8” results in a display of “1”.

To initiate a setting of the clock, a press at the bottom of the display is required even though the clock pad is at the top of the display. My original board works perfectly in regard to mapping of touch pads.

Two assemblies were purchased at Sears Parts Direct and one from Appliance Parts Pros. It is apparent that the firmware controlling the mapping of touch pads is wrong.

Can anyone please help me resolve this issue?

WS..DS7W0 Oven element substitution

HELLO and Help
This 30+year old 27 inch wall oven (with broil and rotisserie) was manufactured for the Canadian Department Store Chain, Eaton's, by whom I don't know.
Model WS..DS7W0 Serial # 202923 KW3.8 Max. line current 19.0 amps.
The current bake element has expired. It was a generic replacement for the original and installed 5 years ago by a technician. There is no indication of wattage.
Question: What happens if I install a higher wattage element? For example, I install a 3000 watt in place of a 2500 watt????
This is urgent, the spouse is getting worried about not having an oven for Christmas Eve. Help!!!

Samsung NX58K9850SS/AA Flex Duo Touch Screen Issues

So I bought this oven from a liquidation website with the knowledge that it would take some repair. Mostly it was just missing some parts and had a couple of dents. It was apparently a floor model at a Best Buy somewhere. So as far as I can tell it has never actually been installed in a home.

Anyways when I got it and started to work on it right away the control panel wasn't working. All display section light up but no no response. So I pulled the display assembly module and noticed one of the wire connectors was almost somepletly pulled off the board. So I assumed that had to be the issue and ordered the replacement. https://www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-assy-module-assy-de92-03967a-ap6002980.html

Once I got it installed it did the exact same thing. Began to trouble shoot more and discovered a set of wire connectors that went in the the PCB was not connected. Plugged it in and the display board light up correctly and you hear the chime it makes. Felt like an idiot and plugged the old display board back in and it worked just like the new one . But that connector actually came completely off so it needed replaced anyways.

But now the touch is all off. only a couple buttons respond but none of them respond to the correct setting. Button 1 puts up number 7 and number 2 puts up 8. Did the same on the old display module. So I thought I was ordering the Digitizer Glass part but I ordered the wrong part . I couldn't find the digitizer listed in the parts list at all not on any other site either. So I thought maybe it's the main board PCB.

Ordered that https://www.appliancepartspros.com/samsung-assy-pcb-main-de92-03960d-ap6002976.html. And installed it and guess what......exact same issue.

So the only thing I can think of is the glass digitizer but I cannot find a MFG Part number for that piece.

Someone help please!!!!!!

Kitchenaid Double Wall Ovens/Electrical smell/buzzing sound/F9E0 error

Error code: F9E0 ("Product not wired correctly")

Electric Burning odor, then loud "buzzing/whirring" sound when CANCEL to shut off.

Kitchenaid Double 30" wall ovens, model KODE307ESS00
Installed/New about 3 years ago

Ok, so my wife's doing Christmas baking and had the top oven on for about 4 hours. She called me into the kitchen and said she smelled an electrical odor. I could barely smell it, but told her to turn the oven off (CANCEL on the upper oven) as I ran to the cellar to throw the break off on my subpanel. As I was going down, she said she hear a loud "buzzing/whirring" sound that she claimed wasn't the fan.

Next, I inspected all cabling... behind the cabinet drawer under the ovens and in the cellar coming out of the subpanel. All cables looked normal and felt cool to the touch. Their was no sign of them having been overloaded.

I then turned the breaker back on and tried to set the top oven to 350F... and got the F9E0 error code. It was the same when I tried the lower oven... so whatever the problem is, it is affecting both ovens. (So... NOT either of the control boards?) I tried this a few times--same error.

I then shut off the breaker for safety.

I should say that I've been doing my own electrical work for over 40 years... this was a neat, clean install. Large junction box installed behind the oven... large wire nuts used to make connections (very tight)... cables secured all throughout the run.

All the electronics in this model are above the top oven and it seems that any repairs must be done by uninstalling the ovens from the cabinet. Which is my hellish problem... it's installed about 2" from a wall and window with a radiator under the window that is about 6" taller than the bottom of the lower oven. What a pain this will be for a repairman!

Advice... any ideas on what component it could be?

New info:

The oven's breaker has been shut for over an hour...

I just turned on the breaker again so I could run the diagnostics (CANCEL+CANCEL=START) to see if there were any other error codes in its memory that we missed previously (there aren't). I then turned on the upper oven to 350F and to my surprise the error didn't show up... it continued to preheat for a couple of minutes. I tried the same on the lower oven--no error.

Could it be that the thermal fuse might have somehow melted and caused a short which might have caused the F9E0 error? (If so, this would be a simpler repair since I'd only have to slide the unit out a few inches to get to it. (I'm hoping for something simple, I know!)

Still, I'm not going to use it until I know for certain it's safe.

best oven under $1500

I don't know if this is the best place to look- but I am wondering if there are any recommendations on which brand would be the best to go with for under $1500?

I suppose I could go to consumers reports but it seems like they don't cover all the brands- and the brands they do cover, the models are never available.

anyway- I just don't want to end up with another bummer oven like my 20 year old Maytag Gemini.

Thanks,

VGIC3666BSS Viking oven igniter replaced, continues to not stay lit

So, I have here a VGIC3666BSS, date of manuf. 031308. The problem is that the oven igniter works but the oven will not stay lit. I have a short video if I can post I will. I have already replaced the single igniter (U shaped burner tube), and it will light for about 3 seconds then I hear a clicking sound and the gas stops flowing completely and the oven flame stops. I read about an oven safety valve in another thread. Sounds like that may be it though I don’t know the PN for that. Help.

Thermador range model PRG364GDUS front left burners (XLO) don't work

I have a circa 1999 Thermador range model PRG364GDUS serial number #99070026F and the problem is that the front left burner stopped working about a month ago (it is one of two “XLO” (extra low) burners on the unit). The other three burners, the griddle, and the oven work just fine. We did have a problem a few years ago where the igniters would stay on from 2-20 seconds after the burner lit however that problem just went away with time.

I wanted to order a new “potentiometer” for that burner however first I needed to know what version of the simmer control unit I had so I popped off the kick plate and started to dust off the simmer control so I could read the numbers. That is when all four igniters started clicking. Now I know a little bit about electronics and I am pretty good with a soldering iron however I am not expert by any means and do not know how to use an oscilloscope. I have done some thru-hole repairs on old solid state and tube stereos.

So I was a little surprised when the igniters started clicking when all I did was gently touch the simmer control unit to wipe off the dust. Yes I did not unplug the unit, and to get the igniters to stop clicking I had to unplug it. Then every time I plug the unit back in I get two clicks on the igniters (not sure if this is normal or not). So to me it seems like there is something wrong with the simmer control and so I am asking for advice on what might be wrong and how to fix it. Here are my thoughts on it and I would welcome opinions from the Forum:

bad connection
to try and fix remove all the wires, clean them off, clean the connection contacts, reseat
bad solder joint
reflow solder joints
bad board (send in for repair?)
bad part on the board (which part might be bad? I could repair it myself)
faulty wiring
break out the DMM and test for continuity etc. Not really sure where to start but I’m willing to learn…

This is what I have tried so far (all this before I tried to dust off the simmer control unit).

I pulled the unit out, unplugged, turned off the gas.
I swapped the potentiometer from the left front burner with the left rear (working) burner and tested it and it worked. However, after putting the unit back together, when I plugged it in, I get two clicks on the igniters and the left front burner does not work anymore. However, when I was dusting off the simmer control and the igniters kept clicking, I tried the left front and it worked again. However, once I unplugged the unit, plugged it back in (two clicks), the left front does not work again.

The “bad” potentiometer that used to be on the left front that I removed from the unit has an obvious trace that is burned out - the connection closest to the edge of the board. So something fried the connection or the pot just went bad and fried itself I don’t know I have not taken it apart yet to see what its made out of.

So this is what I think so far: I think that the simmer control is having some problems. Now whether that can be fixed simply by reflowing the solder or cleaning off the connections I don’t know. I may need a diode, resistor, or capacitor replaced - I have not taken it out of the unit to see what’s it made out of however its 20 years old and the electrolytic capacitors are at the end of their life and of course the environment it is in is hard on the board as well. The board could need a full rework.

I think the bad pot on the front left burner is shot and I need to get a new one. I ordered one (part #422748) to see if that will at least work if the simmer control is behaving.

OK I’m done and thank you for reading along. Let me know what you think and what your recommendations are.

Best wishes,
Michael

PS: The simmer control says model SQ003 with no “-H” after it so I am not sure if it is a 422882 or the “old” 411441. I ordered a pot replacement #422748.

Fivestar has oven issues

First post...Having issues with a Fivestar four burner gas oven/range. Basic problem is: When oven is plugged in, oven light comes on (even when oven dial not turned on), indicating the oven is heating but it is not. When the problem was first noticed, the oven burner was coming on and remaining on (almost as if it was stuck) but now it is not. Currently, when plugged in, the glow bar is glowing. Gas is getting to the unit as the stovetop burners will ignite manually but cannot use oven/broiler.

Made a general service call and after ten minutes given a $700 quote to replace thermostat and safety valve. I’ve replaced the glow bar before but thinking that isn’t the issue. I’d appreciate the board’s thoughts and suggestions. The knowledge base here is amazing.

Samsung Double Oven NE59J7850WG/AA - Broiler won't turn off

So we've had the Samsung oven for a year-and-a-half. Today I cooked a pizza in within 8 minutes I had a kitchen full of smoke. Come to find out the broiler was on. I thought it was my fault so I cooked another Pizza using the bake function in quickly realized the broiler was coming on. No matter if I use the top or bottom of the oven using the bake function the broiler always comes on. I've tried resetting the circuit breaker and that didn't help. After calling Samsung they said my unit was out of warranty. But after reading the manual it stated that the radiant heater had a five-year warranty. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Need to find replacement for failed double wall oven

Our wall oven quit after around 20 years. Ready to replace it but can't find anything that would fit well in the space.

The current opening is 27" wide and 47.75" tall. It's a 240V convection Bosch double wall oven from around 1998. I'd even be willing to replace it with a single wall oven - if I could get it to fit in that open. Not really interested in remodeling my entire kitchen to accommodate something wider.

I would consider an old but new exact replacement.

Any thoughts/leads?

Thanks much!

Jenn Air Dual ELement Electric smoothtop

Right front Dual element is not working. Each element reads correct resistance. There is a probe that interfaces with the control switch (WPW10185286) that measures "open". If I short out leads that go to that probe from the control switch, then the elements will get hot. I am wondering if there is a way to replace just the probe, rather than the complete element (burner assembly W10823724)?

Every time the oven reaches its set temp it plays a very annoying song that is making my dog stroke out. I found a YouTube video that shows the removal of the speaker from the control board of an electric LG, but nothing on a gas unit. I've removed the control board and can't find anything that looks even remotely like a speaker. Can anyone tell me how to turn it off or how to find it on the board so I can remove it?

Duro NXR PRO 3051 Range no spark/inconsistent flame

Hey guys, I have a Duro NXR PRO 3051 with no spark at one burner and inconsistent flame on another and I also cannot find the full model and serial number. It is not inside the oven as I am used to seeing and it customer doesnt want it pulled out if possible so I havent checked on the back. The customer purchased it with both of these problems and I have done a little research which shows that others have experienced some of the same things and have had difficulty correcting them with little to no support from the manufacturer and repair companies being unable to find a solution. As far as the spark issue I have verified that there is power to the spark electrode and if I look down inside I can see a glimmer of a spark occuring somewhere near the base of the electrode but can't see where exactly. I have had this issue on other brands a number of times in the past and have always been able to correct it by cleaning up the electrode and burner cap as well as lightly sanding both to reestablish a good ground. This unit is almost new and very clean and although I did try this it had no effect. I cannot see any damage to the electrode and if I hold a screwdriver to it It will spark to that. Not sure what the implications of that are. As far as the inconsistent flame it is only on one burner and I have narrowed it down to an issue with the base as if I swap bases It no longer occurs. Again, the base is very clean and I don't see any blocked ports etc. The gas tube on the bottom of the base is adjustable, I believe for gas to air mixture, but adjusting it does not correct the issue and it does not unscrew all the way so I can attempt to clean it more thoroughly. I am thinking that this base will just have to replaced. More concerned about solving the spark issue at the moment though. I have reached out to the manufacturer but havent heard back yet and have not heard good things about their customer/tech support. Any guidance is greatly appreciated!Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_20181114_135520.jpg  Views: 0  Size: 186.3 KB  ID: 40562Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_20181114_142919.jpg  Views: 0  Size: 213.7 KB  ID: 40563Click image for larger version.  Name: IMG_20181114_142908.jpg  Views: 0  Size: 172.6 KB  ID: 40564

Fridgidaire FGF337ECD oven/broil functions not working

Hi,
I recently obtained an older Frigidaire gas range (FGF337ECD) that had apparently never been used. Though the stove top works, the oven did not as the control module was not working, so I replaced it. The oven still did not work, so I removed, cleaned and inspected the igniter, safety valve and flame tubes and made sure all wires were connected. The igniter had a slight blue tinge - so it was fired up at least once, but I replaced it anyway and the oven still will not operate. When I set the control panel to bake, after a few seconds I can hear the relay click, but the igniter will not glow. I disconnected the gas line to the safety valve and turned on the gas, which is present.
Is there a way to test the safety valve, or is there something else that could be wrong. I have invested almost $200 in parts now, and would like to get it working, but wonder if it's worth it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Whirlpool Gas Range (WEG730H0DS0) Cancel Button Not Working (F2E0)

Hi Everyone,

First of all thank you for your time and input to resolve my annoying problem with this range. I recently got an error code F2E0 and noticed that my Cancel button was not working. I did all of the following but the issue is still there. Please help:

1) Reset the power (did not solve)
2) Changed the control panel where the clock is displayed (did not work)
3) Called the technician and he said I need a new control board. I changed it (did not solve)
4) Changed the touch pad where the keys are located. All works but Cancel Button

Pretty much I changed everything that may be causing this issue but the ribbon cable, That will be the next on my list to change but it is very annoying that the Cancel button is the only issue here. Is there anybody out there encountered and solved this issue?

Thanks,

VGIC3074BSS Viking Range - Inconsistent burner lighting

We've had some recent issues with the gas burners lighting consistently. I cleaned the top and made sure there are no obstructions and then I opened the front panel and low and behold I found something that doesn't look too great.

Can anyone give me the part # for that unit? Thanks in advance.

Samsung FX710BGS/XAA Oven not heating up

I have a Samsung FX710BGS/XAA. The oven stopped heating up when turned on. The igniter glows but it doesn't start. After looking at this forum, I tried turning on a burner while starting the oven and it didn't seem to work the first time (I was expecting to hear a wosh of gas) but it did work the second time after I left it for on for a few minutes. I tried relighting the oven later in the evening all by itself and this time it worked. My wife told me that once time when it wouldn't light, there was an error code E-8. According to the manual that means I need to re-boot the oven. I'll try that and see if it corrects the problem long term. I've also searched this forum and found suggestions that it could be a weak igniter or possibly the gas valve assembly. If I need to buy a part, I want to make sure I don't buy an expensive part that's not necessary. Maybe the restarting (un-plug, re-plug) works or maybe it's a shout term solution. Where should I start so I can make sure I have an oven to use when I need it. Thanks. This forum has been a goldmine of info for all of my appliance repairs over the years.

Question for technicians - what brands have least service calls?

Looks like there are issues with almost all brands. Are there some that stand out with fewer repairs?
What brand and model would a technician buy?

Thanks

Samsung Oven NX58J5600SGAA Preheat/Stead State Questions

I just wanted to sanity check my Samsung oven, which we bought 11 months ago. A few recipes came out a little under, so we bought a thermometer to hang on it. There was a 25 degree discrepancy, which we recalibrated. Here's an example:

Precalibration:
Set to 400
Preheat to 400
+10 minutes later, drop to 375. Stays that way for the next hour.

Post-calibration: +25 degrees
Set to 400
Preheats to 425 actual
+10 minutes, settles to 400 degress. Stays that way for the next hour.

Just wanted to sanity check that this is normal and the initial overage of 25 degrees isn't anything to be worried about.

Also, the preheat beep actually goes off about 5 minutes before it hits the target temp even though the thermostat says (for example) 400. So I'll set it to 400, it beeps ready and shows 400, but the independent thermometer will show 325 or so. Then if I wait 3-5 minutes, it goes all the way to 400 before doing the drop issue above.

This is under warranty for three more weeks, so I wasn't sure if I should have it looked at or if this is all pretty standard stuff.

Samsung FX710BGS Oven Won't Light

I've got a Samsung FX710BGS gas range and the oven won't light. I read through some of the similar issues on this forum and then I tried getting it lit by turning the oven on and then starting one of the burners. This didn't seem to work the first time I tried it (I was expecting to hear the whosh of gas, but a second time, I just left it for a few minutes and it seems to have started up. Can I pinpoint this to the igniter? Or is there still a possibility that it could be the gas valve or something else? Can you point me to the appropriate part to purchase to make this repair. This forum has never failed me in my many appliance repairs over the years.

Thanks.

Electrolux EW30EF65GSB F10 hours after use

Hello.

I have an Electrolux EW30EF65GSB range. Lately its been displaying F10 error and beeping. What is weird is that it displays this error and beeps hours after use. We used an oven yesterday and it started beeping 24 hours later. Oven is not hot. I checked inside and there is no heat. its cool. Unplugging it and plugging it back into power fixes the issue.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

thank you

Bosch HBN53R550B/46 - Main oven not holding temperature

Hi Guys, I have a bosch HBN53R550B/46 double under and the main oven does not appear to hold temperature. I have tried all the available settings to manipulate the elements in different ways but the result is always the same. Having placed a manual thermostat in the oven with 3d hot air selected I can see that the temperature can be somewhere between 25 to 50 degrees under the oven setting. I have replaced the thermostat with control wheel but it has made no difference. Is anyone aware of a way to calibrate this oven or have any further suggestions, really pulling my hair out now :wall::wall::wall:.... For reference the top oven is fine and tend to use this mostly now. Thanks in advance for the assistance.....

C272UB Thermador Oven element substitution

The element has burned out on my Thermador electric oven. Thermador no longer makes or carries the part, and I cannot find it anywhere online, after months of searching.

My question is this: can I substitute another element of the same or slightly lesser wattage? It is either that or throw away a $4,000.00 oven. I can drill a few additional holes for supports if needed.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Thermador PG364GD Outer glass broken on oven door

My house came with a Thermador PG364GD. Last year, the outer glass was broken on the door. We tried ordering a replacement door from Sears, but after several delays, they cancelled the order altogether. My husband and I are looking for either another pane of glass, another oven door, or a new oven. Nobody can seem to find a door and the repair/appliance store in our town said that we didn’t have a complete model number. This appliance is 20 years old. Is it possible and worth it to get a new oven door, or should we just buy a less expensive range?

LSWS305ST LG Wall oven Thermostat AND thermal fuse

Hello, I am in need of help.

My LG wall oven blew a thermal fuse a few years ago after a self clean. I did not use the self clean cycle again.

Since then, the thermal fuse has blown 2 more times, and the thermostat (another fuse type one on the back of the unit) has failed twice. I have had to take my oven out of the wall 4 times. This is getting frustrating to say the least.

One thing i notice is that each fuse I remove has melted plastic near the leads (the metal tabs that you connect the wires to). This does not look like it melted from external heat (the rest of the plastic on the fuse is fine). I will post a photo.

Is there something else that could be causing these repeated failures? How would I go about diagnosing this?

HELP. I am sick of pulling the oven out. Yesterday it happened when i tried to use the oven on convection bake at 450 degrees.

GE Profile Wall Oven shuts off intermittently , also will lock itself too during cool down

I have a double wall oven, GE Profile, convection top oven. When pre-heating it will shut itself off sometimes. Also while cooling down it will go into a locked mode. No error codes appear. Just had repairman here, he was a kid, and just said it needs a new board and that's basically $600 all in. Just wondering what you all know about this model and if you think it's the board or something else? Thanks

Whirlpool oven won't light without starting a stove top burner

Hello,
My Whirlpool wfg320m0bb oven will often not light/or relight without turning on a stove top burner. The issue has been happening for quite a while and I've replaced the igniter once already. The igniter appears to work properly, it comes on quickly and burns bright orange/yellow. But on many occasions, the oven flame does not come on (even after many minutes of waiting). If this happens and I turn on one of the stove top burners, the oven flame comes on immediately. The same thing happens when a relight of the oven burner is required to maintain the oven temperature. There was also a period of many months where even if the oven burner did light, the flame was extremely small. The resulted in the oven heating very slowly. This issue seems to have corrected itself, but I wanted to mention it in case it would help with the diagnosis. Thanks!

Viking stove sparking problems

I have a Viking range 15+ years old. For a while I had spotty ignition of the stove burners, sometimes had to try 2 or 3 times before I got a burner lit. Last week I spilled some soup into the stove, in the area of the spark module, and now it's gone haywire.

No matter which burner I turn on, only the left two burners spark, and then they keep sparking even after the flame is lit. (even if it's one of the left burners that are lit. the right hand burners I now have to light with a long-handled lighter because there is no spark on the right side.) I removed the cover over the spark module, and did a trial and error by moving around the wires heading to the burners. It was always the burners connected to the two righthand spark terminals that were continuously sparking, and the burners connected to the two lefthand terminals would not spark. Thought maybe there was some dried soup gumming it up, but the module and connections look clean. (it was very watery soup)

The sparks for the broiler and the bake function work fine.

Thinking I should just buy a new spark module but is there something else that could be wrong?

Thank you.

HBL5750UC/08 Bosch Wall Oven. Broiler element comes on / stays on in all cook modes.

Bosch wall oven, microwave combo, HBL5750UC/08

Problem:
  • In any cook mode but off, broiler element comes on and stays on. This used to happen intermittently, now all the time.
  • Eventually the over-temp sensor will trigger and turn it off.
  • Turning oven to "off" will turn off broiler element.

  • Built-in diagnostics (from downloaded service manual) don't show any relevant faults.
  • Temp readings from sensors (again, using built-in diagnostics) seem accurate.
  • Using diagnostics to turn on broil element turns it on, but again, will never turn off.

All of this leads me to believe it is a stuck relay?

Question:

I've seen references to a "control/relay board" and a "relay board". I suspect one of these components.

Control/Relay board comes up as Bosch part #12022212. This board looks like it has many small relays on it.

Relay board comes up as Bosch part #00663802. This looks more like a power supply board than a relay board.

Should I replace the relay board?

Kenmore Elite Oven Error

I have a Kenmore Elite 790.48033800. It is a common problem for the display to begin to fail. The digit segments start to fade till you can't see anything or only part of the digits that are being displayed. After this the oven started to error displaying either E95 or E96, it was hard to tell since the digit are fading. This occurred more and more frequently till now it happens every few minutes.

Has anyone ever tried to diagnosing the control boards out of any of the Kenmore elite ovens? I can get a replacement board but want to try fixing it first.

GE induction range shuts down

My GE induction range will periodically completely shut down, oven and stove top. I check at least once a month to make sure it's not in sabbath mode but it still shuts down. After and hour or so once everything has cooled off it will start back. I triped the breaker to see if that would start it back but all I got was and error code FA00. I really like how it cooks and cleans up but this is so frustrating I'm thinking I will buy another range.

Samsung FER300SX will not maintain temperature

All, I’ve read the following thread: https://www.applianceblog.com/mainfo...light=Fer300sx and I’ve replaced both the temperature sensor and the board. However, the problem is still occurring. I can set the temp for 350, and ten minutes later come back and the temp still reads 350 but if I turn the oven off and then back on the temperature started anywhere between 280-300. Replacing the parts brought that up to 310-315 but everything I read states the temperature should not vary more than 15 degrees either side of the set temp. Any other ideas?

Fridgidaire, oven won't ignite, all electronics and top burners work

HI,

My gas range (FPGH3077RF) was installed just 5 weeks ago. The gas Fitter only hooked up my gas lines 3 weeks ago. The oven has worked perfectly. However, the oven was plugged into a 120v wall outlet as I did not have a 240 adapter yet. I finally got the adapter. I pulled the oven out from the wall, plugged in the adapter, plugged the oven into the adapter and pushed the oven back. Now, my bake element will not ignite. The range works, the electronics work, the broiler works. Did I get the one unit out of a million that has a defect and the slightest movement broke the igniter? As far as I can tell there is no pilot or manual way of lighting, its all electronic. Am I mistaken? Any help would be appreciated. Replace a Thermostat Switch for Hamilton Beach Toaster

Hello, All

I have a Hamilton Beach Toaster, model# 31507R. The thermostat switch (the temperature control knob) went bad, but Hamilton does not sale this part. I have all the info from the part I removed, but not sure where I can find a replacement or something similar that will work. Google search keeps bringing up links for China companies, but they require a minimum purchase of 2000+ units. I hope someone here may have a suggestion or know of a similar part that would suffice.

I have a picture, and below are the details I deciphered from the part itself if it helps.

FIXED LRE3083ST LG electric range - stove top burners turn on randomly

My stove top has decided to assert its independence. When I turn on one burner, it may come on or the burner in front of or behind it may turn on, or they may both come on. This happens with both sides of the range, but does not cross sides. I have looked up fixes and it seems like it could be the infinite switches, but this is a digital clock, so no knobs...the back of the range looks really different from the version with the knobs. Plus, both sides go bad, that sounds weird. :ghost: Any suggestions about how to fix this? I am desperate as I have had to break out my single burner camping stove to boil water for coffee. :excitement:

Thank you for any help,

Thank you for any help,

AB80KT-1 Wolf stove top igniter issue

This Wolf stovetop looks to work like any other electronic ignition. A couple of notes;
1)the complaint is that the electrodes continue to spark (the ones without gas turned on) after the gas ignites on one burner
2) 1 of the electrodes sti;ll sparks but is partially broken. (the porcelain)
3) I cleaned (rubbing alcohol) all electrodes and gas plates thoroughly and this improved the situation, but still an issue with sparking after ignition
4) sometimes if all burners on, you put a pan on one burner...sparking starts up again

is there an easy fix? replace all electrodes (they were dirty and not very well maintained

thank you in advance for your reply

shrimp disaster

Still trying to fix the oven after a flood event caused by about a gallon or more of boiling hot shrimp water being spilled all over the range. The stove still works but the spill caused everything else to black out.

So far I have replaced:

The master control board
The display panel
Oven thermostat

Just replacing the master control board did nothing. But, once I also replaced the display panel the oven came back to life and started "trying" to work.

Here's what I mean by trying: Now when I select BAKE at 350 and click START, the fan comes on and about one out of 3 times the gas will actually ignite. However, when the gas does ignite, it only stays lit for 5-15 seconds. That's why I changed out the thermostat (which had no effect). Seems like the gas just turns itself off before the oven ever begins to warm up. Oven door open vs closed doesn't seem to matter, it's just quitting on me.

There must be an electronic part or parts somewhere between the control board and the oven that still needs replacing. Something that would have been flooded by the water or shorted out during that catastrophic event.

If it helps to know, the BROIL function seems to be totally inoperable right now. Looks like it has both gas and electric hoop hardware up there but none of that is doing anything when you tell it to broil.

HELP!!!

Thanks - Dan

Vintage Wedgwood Propane "RV" stove --> to Natural Gas?

Hello all! I have a 1938 cabin with a vintage (age unknown, appears 50's) Wedgewood RV stove. It is propane, and I am curious if I can easily convert to natural gas? Built in to the cabinet, so Id prefer a little info before I start jerking things apart haha. Ive seen a regulator that is said to allow you to swap without changing orifices, but I find this hard to believe... any help would be appreciated!Attachment 39211Attachment 39212

HBL8651UC/01 Bosch Double Oven - Excessive Temperature Fluctuation

Greetings, all. Problems with a Bosch Double Oven, model HBL8651UC/01.

Out of warranty, about 2 years old. Since day one, my wife has suggested the temps seem inconsistent. Admittedly, I didn't take it very seriously and assumed it was just a matter of getting used to a new oven. We don't bake a lot.

We've a visitor staying with us who loves to bake, and immediately noticed the same thing. We've done some testing, and there does indeed appear to be an issue.

Armed with a ThermoWorks Oven Probe, we tested both the upper and lower ovens and had essentially the same results in both.

- Pre-heat to 350 worked as expected, taking the temps up to 365 before cycling off

- Both ovens drop clear to 295-300 before cycling on, again shutting off at 365

I called the only Bosch service within 100 miles, and they couldn't even advise if the above behavior was normal or not. They told me to call Bosch.

I did so, and they basically said it sounds off - but only a service technician would know for sure. They referred me back to the Bosch service center that couldn't advise if a problem exists or not.

I've skills to dig into this myself with a little guidance, but before considering that - can anyone confirm that this is indeed, excessive temperature swing? And if so, what a short list of possible fixes might be?

Thanks much.

Double Oven Display blank

Whirlpool GBD307PDB09 Double oven. Display panel was blank and the oven light worked. It would make some beeping sounds (short, long, short, short, short). I reset breaker and then it said error code E6 F2. I then turned the breaker off for a longer period and when it came on it was fine. Then after a bit, it's back to being blank. Should I take panel off and look for any damage behind and clean? with the breaker off of course. Thanks

RBD305PRS00 Whirlpool Died, was alive, died, now alive again...any tips?

Hi All, my whirlpool gold double oven has been acting up. About a month ago, the display went blank. Pressing buttons on the control panel resulted in one beep, then 3 short beeps, like an error code. I did some research and found a great thread on there about changing out the caps, and checking for broken traces on some large resistors as well as cold solder joints. I asked some questions in the threads I found, but didn't get any responses, maybe because they are so old.

Anyway, the control board is no longer available. There are services where you can send it out, but the possible fix seemed easy enough, so I went in. I'm good with electronics and circuit boards.

I replaced the following 5 caps, buying them from Mouser.com:
C34 & C50: UHE2A101MPD
C11: UHE1H102MHD6
C54: ULD1H330MED1TD
C6: ULD1H2R2MDD1TD

I also found the very large resistor had lifted, but was still in contact with the trace, so I secured it and put it all back together. The oven fired right up and worked great. For 2 weeks. Then the display went out again. Same result, a single beep and then 3 beeps. That was a couple of days ago. This morning, while in the kitchen (I haven't got back to it), I noticed the display was alive again. WTH. Anyway, it was showing error code E6 F2. I will google this to see what it means.

But I was able to set the clock (error seemed to clear) and start the ovens. Not sure how long it will last, but either there is a loose connection or possibly the ribbon cable of the membrane panel isn't seated fully (I can check).

I'm open to any advice or guidance. I hate to throw the ovens away. They are 12 years old, but like new. And my cabinets are only 23.5" deep, and most new ovens seem to require 24", so it makes the project a bit more complicated than just sliding a new one in. Plus, The $2000 for the new oven setup.

Thanks!

Broan Range Hood Evolution 3 QP3 Series

So how about Range Hoods? I have a Broan Evolution 3 series range hood my wife is convinced that it is possessed. However, I don't find an area for range hoods or range hood problems--not under stoves/ranges, or HVAC.

If a mod could point me to the right sub-forum, I'll describe the issues and ask for help on this.

QP330SS is full model number, just found it.......

Oven does not click when turning knob

Hello, last month my 6 burner Premier stove would not not click to ignite & would randomly click when off so I changed the spark module & all was good for a month until yesterday. All surface burners click & ignite but the oven/broil knob does not. The oven can light up if i open the oven knob and simultaneously open any burner knob, but it will not click. My question is can this be ignition switch harness or the oven electrode? I called Premiere and they gave me the part numbers but I wanted to be sure before I order. The stove is close to 12-15 years old. Thanks.

HBL8451UC/01 Bosch wall oven, third board, still random events

I have a Bosch HBL8451UC/01 30" wall oven. It was a direct replacement for a previous 800 series model we put in when we remodeled the kitchen 3 years ago. We went with all Bosch appliances...regretting that decision...but for now, I'll just focus on the wall oven.

After 2 years of usual performance, the oven starting acting strange. It would randomly shut down during preheats...sometime shut down during regular baking. Other times it would work just fine. Oven mode didn't make a difference. At other times, it would act as though someone just hit the "conv bake" button, flashing 325...waiting for you to press enter to initiate preheat (even though no one is in the oven).

So...I figured this was something bad happening with the control board...pretty much all there is to this unit.

I ordered a replacement board from Bosch, about $175 and installed the board. For a week or so it appeared to function just fine...however, at some point the oven would no longer engage heating (just the 2 tone this isn't working sound) unless the lights were turned on...either by opening the door or my a button press...then, you can bake, broil, whatever you want. Then about 4 weeks ago, the display panel went dark. Buttons would make the 2 tone sound, but nothing would turn on. It required 2x cycles at the breaker, and it would light back up and it would work...again with the "light on" caveat. It happened again 2 weeks ago, so I called Bosch and asked to RMA the board.

Got a new board. Working well day 1. No more "light on" necessary. Next day, tried to preheat to 350, display indicated preheating, however, never heard a relay click and nothing happened...no heating. Lights also would not work at all. Power cycled, came back to normal function. About and hour later, the phantom button presses started.

Never seen an error code, even in service mode.

So...I think I have a ghost.

But I'm up for any other suggestions. The 3 "bosch" guys in our area have horrible reviews, and its never fun when you can't recreate the event.

Thanks for the read!

FE710DRS Samsung Electric Range bake element wire burnt

last August I had a lightening strike and my red wire to the lower heating element was burnt. A repairman replaced the connector and the stove worked until about 3 weeks ago. I just pulled the back panel from the stove, and the red wire is burnt again. What can be causing this problem and how can I check what is causing the problem? What can I do to correct this problem
